Our European Honeymoon

We set off on our honeymoon 5 weeks after our wedding date. It was the perfect time & we had the most wonderful trip. Below you’ll see images from Santorini, Paros, Barcelona, Sitges, Dublin and Kilkenny. I challenged myself to shoot mainly film on this trip, and am just so elated with how they captured our memories & the beauty of the places we had the pleasure of experiencing. Many thanks to my husband who carried cameras, never complained about posing for me, and who is all around my favourite person and travel buddy.

Fiona & Joel – Canmore Wedding Photographer

Happy Monday, friends! I thought it was about time I shared another real wedding day with all of you. This kind, adventurous, thoughtful couple was married one week after my wedding, and it was one of my most memorable days yet. F & J are out in the rockies all the time, and it was a priority to them to travel to some of the most beautiful spots around Banff for some scenic mountain wedding photos. As we traveled out to the first photo spot, Fiona gifted me with the most thoughtful “goodie bag/wedding day survival kit” with so many yummy treats and thoughtful things. I was speechless – it was beyond sweet and gave me the strength to face the next challenge ahead, my first time on a chair lift riding up to 7,000 ft elevation. Crazy enough, I’m one of the rare Albertans who has never skied or snowboarded, so this was quite the adventure for me! Needless to say, I survived, and got a few really unique photos from the experience, haha!

Baby C – Calgary Newborn Photographer

It was such a treat to photograph this sweet family at The Wedding Study for their daughter’s newborn session. We kept it simple with neutral colours, and soft, feminine looks for mama and baby C. This family has a love for film, and I knew it would be the perfect opportunity to shoot a newborn session with my film camera for the first time. They ended up being some of my favourite family images I’ve taken, and I was so pleased to be able to gift them with the film photographs that turned out.

If you’re looking for a bright, clean backdrop for your newborn session, and your home won’t give you the look you desire, let me know! Sessions at this studio space are available for a small fee, and I believe it’s so worth it! While I love in-home newborn sessions and the warmth/personal touch it gives the photos, sometimes they can be dark and not so spacious. So if you’re hoping for something different, a naturally lit studio session is definitely worth looking into.

Mission San Jose Inspiration as Seen on Wedding Sparrow

Last summer, just 5 days before my own wedding, this beautiful collaboration was shared on Wedding Sparrow! It was truly the coolest pre-wedding present for me to receive as I was enjoying my bachelorette trip.

Here’s a little of what I had to say about the shoot: When planning my trip to San Antonio, I was drawn to Mission San Jose and all of it’s beauty and the history behind it. Being from Calgary, Canada, I am surrounded by stunning mountains, fields and parks, but we do not have anything quite like the missions. I was thrilled to photograph this inspiration shoot created by such a talented group of San Antonio and area vendors, and I was even able to bring some of home with me (the ornate gown by Bo and Luca, and the stationery by Debbie Wong Design) to complete the vision.”

L & J – Banff Engagement

These two belong in the mountains. Their love for the scenery and of course, one another, made for one of my favourite sessions I’ve ever photographed. I think it’s important to choose a setting for your session that reflects who you are as a couple, and to be somewhere that brings you joy. That is when the magic is made.
